Our Approach: Why Everything We Do Works Together
Many chronic and recurring symptoms are influenced by more than the tissues where those symptoms are felt. The body must continuously coordinate cellular activity, neurologic function, posture, autonomic regulation, metabolism, immune activity, and recovery as one integrated system.
The Aiello Protocol™ begins by evaluating the body's underlying regulatory state. In the current Biofield Model, the biofield is proposed to be a continuously changing electromagnetic system that compares what is happening within the body with what is occurring around it and predicts what should happen next.
The nervous system provides one of the fastest ways to observe changes in this regulatory state. Changes in thalamocortical timing, postural stability, muscle recruitment, laterality, and autonomic function can therefore serve as functional readouts of underlying biofield compensation rather than necessarily being the original cause of the problem.
Our first goal is to identify and correct reproducible patterns of biofield compensation. Once a more stable regulatory foundation has been established, remaining structural and tissue problems can be addressed more specifically with treatments such as chiropractic care, dry needling, massage therapy, local cold laser therapy, shockwave therapy, and rehabilitation when appropriate.
This is why the different therapies used in our office are not interchangeable. Biofield Assessment addresses regulation. Functional neurologic examination evaluates how the nervous system is expressing that regulation. Chiropractic treatment addresses joint mobility and proprioceptive function. Dry needling and massage address muscular and myofascial dysfunction. Local laser and shockwave therapy can be used to support tissue recovery.
